Corporate Controller
Job Description
Responsible for direct supervision of financial functions, accounting, payroll and human resources. Primary responsibilities include supervision of the monthly close process, monthly, quarterly and annual billings to customers for service provided, billing reimbursements from customers, collection of accounts receivable, supervising accounts payable, monthly preparation of a reforecast, cost accounting, annual preparation of a budget, responsible for the preparation of quarterly tax projection and annual tax return preparation and all treasury administration. The Corporate Controller also creates and implements policies and procedures to identify, resolve and document accounting issues.
Reports to the President and CEO of the company.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Preparation of annual budget
- Preparation of work papers supporting the annual tax returns
- Coordinate the preparation of annual tax returns with outside CPA firm
- Implement a process to report transactions by department and compare costs incurred to budget
- Review and recordation of journal entries required to reflect the monthly activity
- Preparation of the monthly close process and month end balances
- Review monthly accounting close process including analytical review of the monthly operating results to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained
- Preparation of monthly financial statements and related footnotes
- Preparation of the year to date cash flow
- Perform cash projections to effectively manage cash balances and maximize the returns on any excess cash balances
- Preparation of monthly reforecast incorporating historical results and future assumptions
- Oversee the processing of bi-weekly payroll

- Serve as the primary interface between the global market and R&D for product development, product extensions, and new clinical applications
- Design market research projects to assess customer attitudes to the current product range and new product introductions and recommend action plans from the research.
- Act as point of first reference for all product related enquiries and work collaboratively with colleagues in Clinical Research and Regulatory to address any issues that may arise.

Mechanical Engineer

- Develop optics mounts that are very stable against mechanical shock and temperature variations.
- Use a knowledge of materials to reliably seal a water-cooled enclosure when the seals also see strong lamp radiation from flashlamps.
- Supporting laser optics, design beam combining structures that allow higher power to be delivered or to switch quickly between wavelengths
- Brainstorm with others to design new hand pieces for delivering laser light.
- Conduct lab measurements to analyze design performance.
The candidate should be familiar with:
- Stress and strain calculations for beams and other mechanical structures.

Clinical Nurse Educator
Job Description
Teach and train clients (plastic surgeons, dermatologist, medical doctors, nurses) on the use of aesthetic and surgical lasers. Location: Registered Nurse can be based in Chicago, Cincinnati, Detroit or surrounding area. Important that the candidate is located near a major airport due to heavy traveling.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for initial post-sales training and subsequent training as necessary.
- Resolve post-sale customer issues and clinical questions.
- Create, revise and maintain clinical training manuals.
- Design and implement customer and distributor training programs in the field; assist in evaluating the need for continuing education programs.
- Provide physician training that includes didactic and hands-on lab with live patients.
- Serve as a clinical education resource to customers.
- Serve as liaison and referral service for patients and families.
- Interface with Sales, Field Service and other corporate staff as needed.
- Attend accredited educational programs and keep current in relevant clinical areas.

Project Development Manager
Job Description
Project/ Product Development Manager is responsible to oversee the conception and development of current and future products that will drive sales revenue. This individual will be responsible to work with a technical team of R & D engineers to create a product design that fulfills Sciton's strategic goals while integrating the needs of marketing, sales and manufacturing departments. He/she will indirectly oversee research and design teams, help with lead testing procedures and assist with drafting specifications for manufacturing. This position will report to the head of R & D Engineering.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Candidate will assist and identify the needs and goals for products from function to aesthetics.
- Must be a creative and strategic technical thinker.
- Coordinate communication/planning meetings between R & D, Marketing, Quality, Manufacturing, etc.
- Proactive hands on professional with proven ability to take ownership and drive the product line(s).
- Work closely with the Director of R & D, President and CEO to establish project timelines, review and refine technical designs plus evaluate customer & market needs.
- Individual will work closely with R & D team to experiment with and analyze different procedures as it relates to Sciton's lasers.
- Work with Manufacturing team to deliver specifications and procedures for manufacturing product.

Electrical Engineer

In this role the engineer will work very closely with the technical team. Individual will be mentored by the one of the founders.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Know MOSFETs including n- and p-channel characteristics, logic and power, gate characteristics, drivers, use in H-bridges.
- Understand motors: AC, DC, BLDC, steppers, encoders, drivers, torque, back emf, etc.
- Design high current (400 A) circuits incorporating IGBTs to control the time duration of flashlamp pulses. The circuits will usually incorporate snubbing networks.
- Know how to use optoisolators.
- Be familiar with sensors: accelerometers, gyros, displacement, pressure, etc.
- Be familiar with SPICE.
- Know the C programming language.
- Be familiar with Programmable Logic Devices from Altera or Xilinx. Have experience in coding using Verilog.
- Be familiar with System Compliance Testing.
- Design logic circuits to communicate with various devices. Example: Use three Hall effect devices to determine the position of a mechanism. Use their states to encode a SMBus device.
- Be familiar with 74 series logic.
- Be familiar with opamps and their use as ordinary amplifiers, trans-impedance amplifiers, oscillators, peak detectors, integrators, constant current sources, etc.
- Design with voltage regulators, both linear and small switching regulators – using, for example, Linear Technology ICs. Be familiar with synchronous rectification.

- Be familiar with microcontrollers. How to use their onboard ADCs, DACs, timers, UARTs, etc. Write code for them.
